Getting Started — Hantavirus
Welcome to Hantavirus.app
Hantavirus.app is a free, public health surveillance tool that aggregates hantavirus outbreak data from official sources worldwide. This guide will walk you through the key features.
The dashboard
The homepage dashboard shows:
- Breaking banner: Active outbreak alert with the most recent update time
- KPI cards: Total cases, deaths, active outbreaks, and case fatality ratio — each with a source citation
- Outbreak map: Interactive map showing affected regions worldwide
- News feed: Curated updates from WHO, CDC, PAHO, and ProMED
- Timeline: Chronological events for the primary outbreak
How data is sourced
Every number on the dashboard carries a source attribution — hover or tap any KPI card to see the source URL, organisation name, and when it was last verified. We do not generate primary data; we aggregate official reports. See data sources for full details.
